M, b. 1592, d. 21 February 1621
William White (The Pilgrim) was born in 1592 at England. He married Susanna (?) White in 1612 at Leyden, Holland. William White (The Pilgrim) died on 21 February 1621 at Plymouth. WILLIAM WHITE, THE PILGRIM

William White was one of the pilgrims who came to America on the Mayflower and is a part of my family history. He is my 11th great -grandfather. They landed on Plymouth in December of 1620. William and Susanna White left England with their son, Resolved. Their second son, Peregrine, was born on the Mayflower.

William was one of the signers of the Mayflower Compact. It was an agreement to share equally and to help each other as they settled in the new world.

Willam White died in Plymouth on Febuary 21, 1621, just two months after they landed. He died with a sickness. He died with pneumonia and scurvy.

This left Susanna as a widow with two young sons, Resolved and Peregrine. She married a second time to Edward Winslow, who had also lost his wife during the illness. This illness was the reason that 50 people died during the first winter at Plymouth.

Edward Winslow became the first governor of Plymouth Colony. About 1638 the Winslow family with Resolved and Peregrine White moved to Green Harbor which is now called Marshfield, Massachusetts.

My family line is through the eldest son, Resolved, who married at Scituate on November 5, 1640 to Judith Vassall. My family line continues through their third child, Samuel White. My family history continues through this Mayflower line for another 11 generations.
