Allen S. Hendrickson Second marriage to older brother's widow. He Born at loghouse on Strong Tract. OBITUARY OF ALLEN S. HENDRICKSON

Mr. Hendrickson was born March 15, 1854 at Mentor, Ohio and came to Illinois when 12-14 years old with his widowed mother and two brothers and settled on a farm between Marengo and Garden Prairie. One brother, the oldest, remaining in Ohio.

When the deceased was one year old, his father, two sisters and a brother were taken away with Typhoid fever, all in a year.

In 1878, Mr. Hendrickson was married to Amy L. Heath of Marengo. There was born to this couple three children - all of whom are living and present today and well known. They are Mahlon, Leslie and Mrs. Alta Sager.

The wife and mother passed away March 31, 1904. On February 25, 1914 he married Miss Laura Lundstrom who has cared unremittingly for him during the many months of his affliction and has proven a helpmate indeed. He leaves the wife, three children, two brothers Uri and Alvin, and the latter a twin, both living in Florida and 15 grandchildren.

About five years ago, he fell and injured his hip and from this injury and slight stroke he never fully recovered. Last September he suffered a second stroke, since which time he has been confined to his room and to his bed much of the time. Sunday morning, May 20, the third stroke came - he fell asleep and quietly passed tothe "great beyond" early Sunday morning May 27, 1923.

Since last September, the deceased had been in great suffering, at times the pain from the compressed nerves was excruciating. No loving care or medical skill could abate it. He bore all his pain and affliction with christian patience and remarkable fortitude.

Mr. Hendrickson was a member of Belvidere M.E. Church and trusted firmly in his God. He was a member of the Masonic Fraternity of the M.W.A. and the Court of Honor.

Services were from the M.E. Church Tuesday, May 29,at 2 P.M. conducted by Rev. Marsching assisted by Rev. Marks of So. Baptist Church. A life-long friend who gave the address - Burial - Belvidere Cemetery Masonic rites.
